Hey Paula, It's chris's sister Martha. Just want you to know how proud we all are of you. You are an amazing athlete, and I know you're crushed and feel as though you've somehow let people down, but you've got to know that you are such an example to young athletes of dedication and determination. It would have been so easy to bail when things weren't going well, and to blame your hip, but you showed tremendous courage and sportsmanship to finish in such style. Good on you. We'll be seeing you on the podium next time, when you haven't been plagued by injury... Big big hug, and to your mumma too. xoxo Martha

Paula,
Congratulations on competing in the Olympics and finishing the race. This race was a true testiment to your character, courage and determination. You finished. You didn't walk away, you persevered and you did not get to where you are by giving up. A medal doesn't define you, what you do with what you are handed does. You didn't quit, we are not disappointed in you, we are proud of you.

You are an inspiration!

Finishing when things are going well is easy, finishing when things are hard is what makes a champion.
